Feelings for i-OTA
I-OTA: A “Dokodemo Door” That Connects Manufacturing
For me, I-OTA is a place that instantly connects and brings value to everyone involved, whether they are placing orders, receiving orders, or supporting the process. In that sense, I see I-OTA as a modern-day “Dokodemo Door” for manufacturing.
Solving the Challenges of Accessibility and Business Barriers
Ota Ward has long been known for its network of skilled manufacturers, often described as a place where “if you hand over a drawing, it will become a finished product.” This network of cooperation among local manufacturers, known as nakama-mawashi, has been one of the area’s great strengths.
However, in today’s business environment, it has sometimes been difficult for people outside the network to know where to begin. Many small factories also have outstanding technical capabilities, but because of their size, they have faced challenges in conducting direct business with large companies.
I-OTA addresses these issues through its digital ordering and procurement platform, “Plat Monozukuri,” while also functioning as a united group of local manufacturers with a corporate structure. By opening this door, both ordering companies and receiving companies can find solutions to their challenges through a trusted network.
Beyond the Region, Toward Supporting the Future of Manufacturing Worldwide
I-OTA is looking toward the future. It has the exciting potential to connect beyond the boundaries of Ota Ward, collaborate with other regions, and support manufacturing needs around the world.
As a Legal Specialist and Financial Professional, Walking Toward the Future Together
Although I cannot manufacture products with my own hands, I can support others through human connections and my expertise in law and finance.
Beyond the “Dokodemo Door” lies a new view of the future. I invite you to open that door and explore it together with us.

Greeting
Nice to meet you. My name is Kumiko Oi, representative of Oi Certified Administrative Procedures Legal Specialist Office.
I have lived in Ota Ward for almost my entire life. I also began my professional career in Ota Ward, working as a cabin attendant for an airline based at Haneda Airport.
After that, I obtained my qualification as a certified administrative procedures legal specialist and moved to a foreign-affiliated financial institution. It was there that I first had the opportunity to directly encounter the workplaces of local “machikoba,” or small manufacturing factories. I still remember the shock and inspiration I felt at that time. From the bottom of my heart, I thought, “How wonderful this is!”
In the media, small factories are sometimes described as part of a declining industry. However, I am firmly convinced that this is not the case. Even if the structure and systems of the manufacturing industry change with the times, the value of the elemental technologies held by skilled craftspeople will never disappear. The technologies of small factories undoubtedly support the foundation of manufacturing in Japan and around the world.
I cannot manufacture products with my own hands. However, I can help create an environment where the people working in small factories, who will support the future of Japan, can focus on their core business with peace of mind.
Through reliable support in law, finance, and human connections, I hope to remain the closest partner supporting the future, so that your aspirations and businesses can continue for years to come.
